What the role involves:

Content marketing — writing and publishing blog posts targeting WordPress publishers, SEO agencies, niche site operators, affiliate marketers, marketing teams, and PR agencies. We have an editorial calendar started and clear keyword targets already identified.

Social media — managing and growing our LinkedIn and Facebook presence. We have already published our first two posts and are building a content rhythm. LinkedIn is our primary channel, given the agency and professional-buyer audience.

SEO — on-page optimization using RankMath, keyword strategy, internal linking, and building topical authority around WordPress content operations. We have title tags, meta descriptions, and focus keywords defined for all 10 pages of the site.

Lead generation — driving qualified traffic to the site and converting visitors into license purchases. Our pricing is Starter: $149/yr, Growth: $299/yr, and Agency: $599/yr, with direct Freemius checkout links live.

Email marketing — building and managing a list of prospects and customers through Brevo, which is already integrated into the site.

Competitive intelligence — monitoring the WordPress AI content plugin space. Our main competitors include Frizerly, ZimmWriter, Jasper, Surfer, and Bramework. Understanding what differentiates BlogAuthority from each of them is essential.

What you need to bring:

Deep understanding of the WordPress ecosystem — our buyers are WordPress site owners, SEO agencies, niche publishers, affiliate marketers, marketing teams, and PR agencies. You need to understand how they think and what they search for.

B2B SaaS or plugin marketing experience — BlogAuthority is a software product with a flat annual license. Experience marketing developer tools, WordPress plugins, or SaaS products to professional buyers is strongly preferred.

SEO content writing — the ability to write clearly and persuasively for a technical audience without sounding like AI-generated filler. Our brand voice is confident, specific, and editorial. No fluff.

LinkedIn content strategy — our founder has an established professional presence, and we are building an audience there. Experience growing a LinkedIn following for a B2B product is a significant advantage.

Data-driven approach — you should be comfortable with Google Search Console, analytics, and reporting on what is actually working.

Understanding of AI tools and the content marketing space — our buyers use AI tools daily. You should be fluent in the conversation around AI content, BYOK models, SEO in the age of AI search, and generative engine optimization.

About the opportunity:

This is an independent contractor role to start. We are looking for someone who can own marketing with minimal hand-holding, bring strategic thinking alongside execution, and grow with the product as it scales. We are not looking for someone to post three times a week and call it marketing. We are looking for someone who wants to build something.
